Ok so i've just ordered a new HDD for my computer as the other one has broken and will not boot at all. The broken HDD has Windows 7 on it and i'm wondering instead of buying a whole new OS could i recover the OS from that HDD and put it on the new one?

Thanks.

If its the same PC your key should work just fine just make sure you install the correct version for your key.

As for your original question if your HDD is dead its unlikely you will get anything on it back

I don't have the key though. Will it still work?

There should be a sticker on the PC with the CDkey laptops its on the bottom. a desktop will be somewhere on the case(top, side or back)

You could always download the Digital River version then buy a code later on. You can get like 90 days free before you need to activate it, well there is a command you can use 3 times I think to extend the trial when it's close to expiring.

Sorry for the late reply.
Use windows loader to activate the torrented OS. I myself have done this.
