How to create your own Windows 7 Start button tutorial with pictures included:

Before Tutorial:

After Tutorial:

Requirements:
Windows 7 Start Button Changer v 2.6: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Virus Scan: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] the file is clean
StartOrbz v3.1.a/v2.1(By ~Blizo on Deviantart): [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Virus scan: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] 1/42 it's a false detection the file is clean!
And a .png/.gif/.jpg/.bmp design of your choice! I will be using a Black Ops 2 image of the II for the tutorial. It looks like this:

If you want to follow the tutorial with this image you can or have your own.

Step-by-step Tutorial:

1) Having already read and downloaded all the files I listed in the requirements, unpack them and put them in a convenient place for you where they will be easy to get to.

2) Open up the startorbz_v3_1_a_by_blizo-d2kbi1i folder and click on Startorbz v2.1.

you can open up StartOrbzv3.1.a but that crashed for me because it's in alpha. There's really no difference except the layout and like a couple features that we won't be using. Once open it should look like this

3) Click "Create Genuine Creation" and a blank start button screen should appear

4) You will see an exclamation point and a folder when a magnifying glass on it that says "Normal" Click the folder icon.

[Optional] you can also feel in the title and the boxes, I guess it's like an copyright where people know who made it. It's not mandatory.
5) Select the design you want, MUST be in .png/.gif/.jpg/.bmp format! I will choose the Black Ops 2.png picture that I showed in the requirements spoiler.

6) When the image is fully loaded, you'll be given the option of using the same image for the other two buttons (Hover and pressed) aswell. I will be choosing "Yes"

Once you select "Yes" all the images should look like the first image:

7) Well, now this is the creative part! You can go through the various list of effects provided by this program, including bevel, emboss, dropshadow, outer glow, changing the size of the icon, and even having a square, circle, raindrop shaped Start button! Go crazy with this stuff, be free! I'll just show what effects I did with the second image (Hover over Start button with mouse)

8) Ok, so once you have the start button how you like, save it! Click the save icon at the top right of StartOrbz (It's the highlighted icon in the picture if you can't find it)

9) Then save your StartOrbz Creation as a StartOrbz Project (Selected already by default) Then click "Save".
10) Now, you'll go to this menu, with your first Windows 7 Start Button, now click the blue arrow at on your StartOrbz button and a list will pop up.

11) Once you've clicked the blue arrow, there should be an option called "More", click it. Then you'll see another list. Find where there is an option called "Export" click that.

12) You'll be able to save your file as a png Image (.png), BUT DON'T select .png, select Bitmap (.bmp)!! Then name your file whatever you like. and click "Save"

13) Now, wherever you exported your Start button to, go there. Now your wondering, why the heck do I have four buttons of the same file?? Well the first one is the smallest one, being around 54 x 162 pixels, which is the correct size for most start buttons, because the rest will be too big.

14) So now that you've found that correct button. Open up your Windows 7 Start Button Changer v2.6 program.

15) Select "Select & Change Start Button" and then select the smallest size Start button that you have exported! Then click "Open". From there your taskbar should flicker and do a quick reset and your windows 7 start button should be substituted for that boring Windows default start button!

16) Enjoy your customized Windows 7 Start button that you made yourself!!! If you followed using my Black Ops 2.png image, it should look something like this:
This is what the button looks like whenever it's not being hovered over

Here's the button when you hover over it:
