Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

The software update failed while reading from the disc. Try the following:

Turn on the console. The update process should complete.
Note The disc you insert must be the same disc that was in the console when the update began.

If you continue to get the same error, try the following steps:

Turn off your console.
Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 S console.
Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.
Turn on the console.

This error occurs if your console has been tampered with or modified. Your console can no longer connect to Xbox LIVE, install software updates or play new games that require a console software update.

Physically disconnect your network cable or remove your Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adaptor from the console.

You can use the following steps to turn off the automatic sign-in so that you can play games offline. To turn off auto sign-in:

Restart your console.
Select No if you are prompted to update your console software.
Press the Guide button on your controller.
Go to Settings and then select Profile.
Select Sign-in Preferences.
Set Profile Auto Sign-in to Off.
Press the B button on your controller to return to the Xbox Dashboard.
Your console can now play your existing games offline. Any future attempts to sign into Xbox LIVE or update your console software will result in an error.

Your console had a problem during the update process. Carefully, follow these step-by-step instructions:

Eject the disc tray and remove any disc from the console.
Important Do not close the disc tray. Leave it open.

With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.
Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.
Plug the power cord back into the console.
Push the power button on the console. The tray should close the rest of the way, then the console should restart and display the Xbox Dashboard.
Important Do not use the controller button or the disc tray eject button to turn on the console for this step.

Try updating your console software again.
The update should now continue. If the above steps do not work, the console might need to be repaired. Please contact Xbox Support using the Assistance section at the bottom of this page.

Reboot your console with the disc that prompted for an update. If that fails, try updating your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or CD.

To everyone getting this error, just simply put in a new drive and update with that one.

Now, i wish to ask someone, how can i reset the firmware on my dvd drive?? because i am tired of not being able to play new games because of this :/
