Markets are controlled by clans controlling all the wealth, the game is not fun unless you have tons of gold. I spent my last 300m on Construction, smithing and a nice house and now at 25m I find the game hard to enjoy.

Only if you want to dude. The game isn't the same as it was two or three years ago, but I still find it semi-enjoyable.

Definitely join again. Try it out for like 2 months, don't take first impressions after a week. Just see if it will appeal to you after that amount of time.
