Genre: Music video game
Platform: Wii, Nintendo DS

Synopsis

Ultimate Band was like Guitar Hero but for the Wii. It required no accessories only the Wii remote and the nun chuck but those came with the Wii. This song would let you sing or play along to some of your favorite songs while progressing through the story mode gigs that you could select to play from. These gigs ranged in difficulty and would allow you to challenge yourself and other local friends to compete to see who could get the higher score while still playing some of your favorite songs. Or you could go to free play and jam out to some free picked songs there.

Story Mode

The story mode was set up as tournament for your band. You could create a four man band with a wide range of characters. You could also change the name of you band to anything you want which is a change from most games where you could only have a preset band name. Also with your band you can pick pick from a wide assortment of emblems. Once your band is set up you see a cut scene where your band is watching the tv and see's a opportunity to join a tournament that might make your band become known. So you go against other bands by playing preset songs in order to get to the top of the tournament.

Songs

As in most band games the song list greatly depends if its even worth buying. No one wants to by a song thats all about playing songs if all the songs suck. Well luckily in this game the songs range from being old fashion to current songs. It well suits everyones liking of songs

Overall

Overall this was aa pretty good game. I enjoyed every minute of it. From the songs just to the way it was set up was good. Its not really a solo game though its more of a multiplayer game that you can play and enjoy with friends. The only problem i had with the game was it seemed like sometimes you would hit a note and you would know that you've hit it but it marked it as a miss. Thats only if your going for a high score that its annoying when it resets your streak. Other than that its a great game.
