Congratz on a one year member and no its not possible. The phone wouldnt be able to support all the new stuff with the hardware it has. I dont think it has ever been done before and probably never will.

nope. i broke my 1g jumpping into a pool yesterday. buying a 4 next week 8)

TTG_Crisis has a good point but, this is indeed false truth is you can put a higher firmware then the 4.0 update onto an iPhone 1G but, I highly recommend you do not attempt or succeed doing this as it WILL result in a total frying of the (brain) motherboard of the iDevice itselfs inside or as it can be called the computer. So to answer your question yes you can put a 4.0 firmware or higher onto the 1st Gen iPhone but I highly recommend you DO NOT. Thank you enjoy.

Actually itunes wont allow it at all so dont ry it at all. All you will get are error's error's and error's. It would take the hardest of modifications to try this.

You can pm me cuz I can't advertise but you can put 4.0+ firmware on outdated iDevices like IPhone and ipod 1g and 2g
