I've seen a few topics in general discussion asking how to add certain things in a post, how to bold or underline text or even change the text color. Worry not! If you don't want to play around with that pesky WYSISYG (What you see is what you get) editor, you can type out the code yourselves and it will still work properly, so lets get started!

To start, every forum generally has the same BB code, so this can be applied across more than one forum board, Note that each tag needs a closing tag, for example [] will be followed by a [/] for example [img] your link here [/img]

Here are some examples of BB Code used on The Tech Game

[.b] [./b] Bolds the text

[.u] [./u] Underlines the text

[img] [/img] [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

[url] [/url] [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] | Places a link, You can also name your link by using the

[url=yourlink]Name[/url] [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

[.align=center] [./align]
Centers the text

[.align=right] [./align]
Pushes text to the right

[.align=left] [./align]
Pushes text to the left!

[.s] [./s] Strikes the text. TTG Staff use this code often to indicate a topic has been closed

[.i] [./i] Puts the text in Italics

[.color=red] [./color] Colors the text, you can use just about any color you can think of!

[.spoil] [./spoil]
Adds an optional text window

[youtube] [/youtube] - Adds a youtube embedded video to your post.

Now for advanced users, you can combine BBCode to make your post look even better, I will post an example

[.b][.color=blue] [./b][./color] Bolds and Colors the text

In some forum boards, you can use the [url] tag and the [img] tag to use an image as a link in replacement of text! It looks like this

[url=yourlink][img]yourimage[/img][/url] And you get this
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The possibilities and combinations are almost limitless, so play around, be sure to remove the "." in the code, as I placed it to display the syntax! Unsure if you're doing it correctly? Try practicing here, if you mess something up, you can always edit your post!
