I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500.

I love this truck to death and was just wondering what was the best lift kit I could possibly put on my truck.

I was wondering about around 3" to 5" lift kit for my truck.

Also getting new rims and tires but I already know what kind I want so don't worry about that.

Thanks can't wait to hear your feedback!

Kelderman is generally the best quality lift you can get as it's usually air ride in all 4 corners.

It really depends on what you're doing though. If it's a SEMA truck get a Kelderman lift. If it's a daily beater and you're ballin on a budget look at Rough Country. If you want a tad better quality look at Zone. If you want the mid ground between quality and price, look at Skyjacker.

I had a '97 F-150 that I lifted 5" with Rough Country and a '99 F-350 on a 6" Rough Country lift, and I might do a 4.5" or 6" lift on my current '06 F-250 with a Rough Country kit.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is how the truck is getting lifted. You have coil springs in the front, DO NOT use coil spring spacers. They ride hard and take away offroad capability along with payload capacity. Same thing in the rear, you will have leaf springs, it will be hard to find a full leaf spring lift but at the very least get an add a leaf. On my F-150 the block have the axle enough leverage to flex the springs and it eventually flattened my springs. The F-350 didn't have that issue because it had more springs, thicker springs, and wider springs. When I did F-250LD springs with an AAL in my F-150 I didn't have any more axle wrap issues.

All in all, Rough Country will be your budget friendly one and it will do you just fine, just try to get the kit that lifts the front 100% on coil springs. My issue both times with Rough Country was the U-bolts in the rear kept stretching so I just bought new U-bolts and had no issues.

Also here is my brothers old '96 Ram 1500 on a 6" rough country lift.

EDIT:

One thing I forgot to mention is this truck was on 37's. You will not want to go this high as on 37's you will have to re-gear the axles which will be another roughly $2k. Stick with a 4" or lower on 35's if you can find a 4" kit.

I have to agree with 002. It's really how much money you want to put in it. I like Kelderman lift kit because it uses air bags which gives you a better ride. But I also like rough country because it is budget friendly and it does what it is suppose to do. I have a rough country lift on mine and I like it.
