So recently I was able to buy a 2004 Mazda RX8 for 200$

Cheap right?
Well it has a 13B 4 port rotary in it with blown seals and was driven while overheating, Thus warping the rotor housing which basically trashed the motor.
Ontop of that, The car is on a "Rebuilt Title" and was in a Collision that caused minor frame damage which was repaired thoroughly and correctly so that isn't an issue to me although it affects resale price which I also don't care about.

I looked around and checked the local rotary scene around me and was able to find a guy doing an auto to manual swap on his 04 RX8 with the same motor that's in mine and talked to him and I'm going to be buying his motor, trans, driveshaft, differential, and subframe for 500$. I don't need all the extras but it doesn't hurt to keep it around just incase.

My whole plan for this car is to make a sleeper car (While its on the 4 port 13B and the auto trans) until I find a good cheap Turbo II RX7 that I can buy to swap everything over and make a drift car out of it.
I will however be welding my differential for occasional fun in the rain.
But the main modifications I will be doing is getting Turbo II rotors so I can put a decent sized turbo on the car and not worry about blowing it up with the high compression rotors that are already in it, And with the turbo II rotors I will be able to run about 18-22Lbs of boost and be Somewhat safe with it, and ontop of the turbo I have a Nitrous kit being sent to me beginning of january for the car so I can do a 100 Wet shot in it (Rotaries love NOS).

Then for cosmetics, I'm getting a big ole' fat wang for it. Not sure what kind yet, But I found a decent 72" GT wing on ebay for about 150$ that I really like. I also plan on getting a widebody kit and I've been thinking about the Pandem kit and doing that, or just going with some Duraflex fenders and bumpers but I'm still not entirely sure about it.

I'm still not extremely familiar with rotary cars, But if any of you are familiar, please tell me your opinions!

Will add more pics as time goes by

Hey, you might want to look into pre-mixing your fuel with 2 stroke oil to help with lubricating the engine. Not sure what the oil injection system is like on the renesis but on a lot of the older rotary you will find a lot of people prefer to disable the oil injection system and simply mix in oil with the fuel when you fill up. You can look up different ration and the synthetic vs mineral yourself and make your own decision.

I also have heard that the automatic rotaries tend to get carbon build up a bit quicker due to not hitting the higher revs like a manual. If you didn't know, you can't really baby a rotary around, driving around not going past 2k rpm. You should red line it every so often to help reduce carbon build up.

In the rotary community, at least where I am the rx8's get a lot of hate mainly because people see them as sorta girly looking and not very mean but honestly, you do see some really nice ones with tasteful mods that make them look nice and mean. And people don't really seem to like the renesis all that much. Apparently the first series of rx8 just had a lot of issues that were sorta out but it did hurt the name overall.

I'm not too worried about the premixing as i plan on doing e85 in it and from i heard doing that can save the motor just as much as premixing.

And i always have the option for paddle shifters and slap shift on the car
