I recently got a new gpu and decided to give my old one to my girlfriend. I threw it in and the fan spins but it gives no signal. So I tried a different monitor, 3 different types of cables, 2 different motherboards, I tried putting a different gpu into her motherboard and it worked. I tried everything I can think of and it all points towards the gpu being the problem, but all I did was move it into her computer which takes 2minutes so I don't see how it could have died in those two minutes. Any help would be great

Is the computer posting? Does the cpu have intergrated graphics? Also do you know if your bios by default selects a certain source for display, or is it auto negotiation? Try pluging into your io w/ a hdmi and see if itll display something then check in your bios settings for this. Also what is your mobo and gpu?

You are using the GPU as an output device for a display and not the mobo when using the PC?

In your Gf machine, unplug the GPU, download the display drivers and then retest. Let us know.

the gpu will not work in the intel system or in the amd system (which has no integrated graphics anyway) both computers are fully functional when not using the gpu. the monitor is connected directly to the gpu. it has been working fine for years and suddenly stopped working after i took it out. the fan spins up but no signal. its fully in the pcie slot and has power delivery.

If you've tried all that, it could be just a dead card.
