I don't know much about computers but I would like to start getting into pc gaming. I would like to play games like pubg and the new AAA games. Gaming will be my only real use for the computer
My budget is 1500 usd - budget is for just the pc
I would like to also go the intel route instead of ryzen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Help us out more. Ryzen > Intel until coffee lake for now IMO.
currency?
What do you need? (monitors, keyboard, mouse, mic/speakers/headset)
Aesthetics? (panels, LEDs, color schemes)
Will you overclock?

So just the PC, no peripherals?
What monitor(s) do you have that you'll be using with this system then?
Resigned- wrote I'll need thermal paste too
Why?

No you won't. CPU coolers come with pre-applied thermal paste or in some cases, include a tube of thermal paste.

Yeah, don't do that. Spending $1500 to play games on a 1080p TV is a huge waste of money.

You can easily get a nice 1440p monitor and a GPU capable of running it within your budget. This monitor should easily OC to 96-120Hz. You can use the remaining $150 or so to either bump the GTX 1070 up to a GTX 1080 and get a bigger/better SSD, or get this monitor instead of the QX2710;

If you're determined to go Intel, wait another 2 weeks or so for Coffee Lake and grab an i5(probably an i5-8500 and a B360/H370 motherboard).
