Alongside the exciting news of the arrival of [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , Pokemon Go will be approaching its previously announced new battle system inclusively. Beginning on September 6th, the developer is using player feedback to make the system as smooth as possible.

After [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] at the Pokemon Go Stadium event in Japan, Niantic has been preparing Trainers for the Pokemon's arrival globally by announcing Exclusive Raid Battles. The only thing we knew at the time was that they were special invite-only battles. However, after a bug was found in the last update that was meant to start rolling out the new raids, Mewtwo and the new battle system were put on hold. Now that the bug, which kicked players out of raid battles, has been fixed with the latest update, Niantic has revealed a new name and roll out window for the exclusive fights.

The new raid battles will now be known as EX Raids, not to be confused with the trading card games powerful EX and GX cards. The special raids will still be invitation only, unlike the regular raid battles where Trainers can join together at any time, but Niantic has clarified they will field test at select Gyms from the start. It seems Trainers who battle a normal raid may get an invitation that will give them a particular time to be back at the Gym for a fight with Mewtwo or other powerful Pokemon.

During the field test, well be making periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations with the goal of making the EX Raid Battle feature engaging, rewarding, and most importantly, fun for Trainers who regularly participate in raid battles, said Niantic. As the original announcement of the special fights was vague, its probable that Niantic wasn't sure how to implement this new system.

Whats important is turning to the community for support on how to best create a new feature is a great decision. Pokemon Go is a varied experience from player to player, as the active set up of the game can create certain obstacles depending on where they live or visit. Typically the problems that occur are fixed further down the road once players voices are heard, so to begin by taking sample data will hopefully bring the smoothest launch of a system the games ever seen.

Wasn't there rumours of them bringing out a follow up to this game? Or they just looking to reboot the first one since it's been dead for months.

Sounds like they are going trough some major updates with the game, if they were planning a reboot probably wouldn't be for a while

Most likely trying to reboot it.

The amount of hype it had was insane, then as everyone said it will die down in a few months which it did.

They are tugging at straws at this point to get the game what it once was.
