I never understood the point in sport video games like if you want to play the sport so much why don't you go outside and actually be active and play the sport you are playing on your tv if you are handicapped then I see why sport video games exist and aren't they legit the same thing over and over again just different players different teams when they transfer

Really?

People can't enjoy a virtual game of Football, Basketball etc? Maybe people only like watching it and playing it on screen. For example, I work long hours, go home, have dinner and then play some Xbox. Play the odd bit here and there but my restriction is time, I want to put my feet up at the end of the day. Not go out and work up a sweat after a gruelling day, but that's just me.

You know, I was actually thinking about that recently; sports games being repetitive, that is. I once used to buy the 2K games year after year and they were really just a waste of money; they're the same thing with different music, "enhanced graphics" and a few new things here and there.

Now, some people actually play the sport and enjoy playing the video games as well. One thing really has nothing to do with the other; people can enjoy both things: the sport and the videogame of the sport. I've played basketball, football, American football, baseball and I used to enjoy playing those videogames at the same time I used to practice those sports.

But what about the people who have no legs and want to play football

or the people who have no arms who want to play baseball

or the people with no brain who want to play tennis

That's the same as saying why don't you go race irl instead of playing Forza or shoot people irl instead of playing Battlefield. It's because playing video-games requires little to no effort and there's no real consequence for your actions.

This.

People play sports to games to use their faviourite athletes/teams and to play them against each other. That makes far more sense in my opinion, than someone playing a game where your objective is to kill other people and die, which you can do in real life.

Most of us can't score a 30 yard freekick against Neuer in real life, so we do it ingame.
