Officers had discovered a sweltering semi truck with dozens of people crammed inside. Eight of them were already dead. Thirty others were severely injured, including many who will have "irreversible brain damage," the city's fire chief said. One of the injured died later at the hospital.

My prayers go out to the families of those that died.

This makes me sick.

Do you happen to have a source?

Seems like he's offline so I'll include the link to the source. Eight people were found dead inside of the trailer and 30 more people were injured, some more critical than others. Among those found inside of the trailer, were children and young adults as well as adults.

Human trafficking is a crime that's becoming more and more usual in the United States, and around the world, but it never seems to make it to the news outlets until something like this happens; until something terrible happens to people.

The driver of the truck, James Bradley Jr. has been charged with illegally transporting foreigners for private financial gain.

The driver stated that "he did not know that there were immigrants stuffed into his trailer". I believe his statement could be a crucial factor in his case since the driver, in most cases, doesn't do the work of attaching the trailer to the truck and he only drives. If the trailer wasn't part of the truck itself but instead was hitched to his truck, there would have been two walls which separated the truck driver from the people on the trailer; making it highly doubtful that he would have heard screams from the trailer. But that's just my opinion.

Full on detective over here either way though, he had some dead people in his truck. This won't end well for him even if he is found not guilty. Everyone will still be hating him, just like OJ Simpson, he was found not guilty, but everyone still thinks he committed the crime. I personally don't give a single f*ck about that, I was just thinking of a example.

I would have thought there's a line in some policy document that he's signed stating that he should check the contents of his cargo himself before making any deliveries.

Also, they couldn't really charge him unless they had evidence that he did it for financial gain, a paper trail of some sort.
So I'm thinking it's pretty much certain that he knew.

They should start building safety features to make it so that these doors can be opened from the inside.
