Reading steam reviews and they really don't give me much confidence to buy DayZ,

Iv wanted to play it for about 3 years and now iv finally built my first PC it's possible,

But the reviews on steam aren't great, they complain a lot about server issues as well as hackers,

Any of use playing it able to give your opinion?

If DayZ is no good, are there any other post apocalyptic survival games on PC right now that are decent?

Thanks guys

I got it to play with friends around 2 or so years ago. Graphics were not very good imo, but then again I didn't have a good PC to begin with when I played it. I would give it a try, if you don't like it you could probably get a refund or something.

One more thing to add, as AD4M said, I would try Arma 3. One of my friends plays it and he's got quite a bit of hours on it and he never said anything bad about it.

No I certainly wouldn't buy it mate.

Worst £20 I've spent in my life, I played it for 2-3 hours and I've enver played it again. The game is massively unstable I believe. Aviod IMO...

I would personally buy Arma 3 if you haven't already. You can play loads of mods on Arma including DayZ mods.

This is soon to be released, so popular atm. Not sure if you've seen the series...

Hope this helps

I have hundreds of hours in DayZ, and I love it.

Yes, it has issues.
Yes, Zombies are OP. (last time I played.)
Yes, the development team is slowly fixing each issue.
Yes, it will probably remain in Alpha for a few more at least another year.

If you are playing alone, no I wouldn't reccomend it. If you have a few people to play with, yes, I completely reccomend it.

Hackers are not a issue as of the last time I played, which was a few months ago, both on stable and experimental.

That being said, the game isn't a cake walk, and your first few games, if you do decide to get it will be rough. This isn't a game you pick up and master in a few hours. Don't give up. It's well worth it to learn.

Also, don't worry about KOS. You'll already have anxiety playing the game, but from my experince, if you join a non KOS server, players seem to respect that as there is too much to loose, and ammo can be few and far between.

I've had so many awesome, scary, and fun experinces on DayZ. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I use to play dayZ all of the time years ago and put hundreds of hours into it, it was good at the time with my friends but I recently tried playing it again and it's just dead, I'm hoping things will get fixed and it will be as fun as it use to be

You'd have a better experience playing unturned than DayZ standalone tbh.

I have both and gotta say unturned is better.

But if you're looking for realism + dayz, get the arma 3 with exile + zombies and demons script.

exile is the pubg mod for arma, the zombies and demons well, adds zombies to it.

I wouldn't recommend getting it. In my opinion it's really buggy and badly optimised. The amount of time they've had working on it and the amount of money they've made compared to how much work they've actually done on the game is awful. It's hardly changed since it came out a few years ago.

I'm not sure about apocalyptic survival games but if you are looking for good player vs player survival games then I really recommend Rust, its a great concept and has Facepunch working behind it so it gets regular updates.
