So my friend wants to build a PC from scratch, he knows how to put it all together and what not, just wants a good build for his budget.

He will mainly be using it for gaming, such as Siege, Rocket League, Fallout, Halo, etc. As well as downloading music. and some programs like Word and such.

$1,000 budget. Maybe a little more if needed ($200 max).

What does he need?
Monitor?
Keyboard, mouse, headphones?

Aesthetics? (panels, colors, leds) ETC
overclocking?

Just some of the basics that would help out.

You could get a Ryzen 5 1400 if you wanted to save $50. You lose 4 threads with the 1400, and a little bit of performance but it will be fine for 1080p 75Hz with an RX 580. The 1400 comes with a lower end stock cooler but with the $50 saved, you could invest $20-25 or so of it in to a nicer cooler than comes with the 1600. XFire support so you could add a 2nd RX 480/580 at any point. You could sacrifice XFire support and a bit of quality by saving some money on the PSU with a Corsair CX450M for $50. If you do save money on the CPU and/or PSU, you could get the 240GB version of the SSD instead of 120GB. I'd probably hold on to the 650W PSU and decide between R5 1400 with 240GB SSD and maybe a nice cooler or R5 1600 with stock cooler and 120GB SSD.

Redragon is a fairly decent brand from experience, decent braided cables, and good mice. Case is a bit cheaper but

PSU is a bit of a weird wattage, but I've used it before, if you are really that into aesthetics, just take the side sticker off, the included cables are nice cables, a bit bulky but the case will manage that just fine.

A little over, you could go a for a higher refresh rate monitor or overclock this one, goes up to about 75hz if you're lucky much like the 25um58-p and 25um58. 13 basically explained the rest of what i was going to say, was typing this and got distracted doing something else at the time.
