Hello TTG,

I am looking to buy a second monitor, one which will be a lot better than my current one for gaming. What would you guys suggest I buy?

These are my current specs:

Depends. What is your budget and currency? What games do you play? What do you want out of a new monitor?

Currency is GBP and around £300-400 would be ideal if possible.

I play all sorts of games, such as witcher, FPS games, MMORPG games etc.

I want my new monitor to be the monitor I play the games on, the other one which I have now can be used for surfing the web etc.

Options;

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Pro's - 1440p, 144Hz, IPS, Freesync
Con's - Expensive

You'll be able to play 1440p comfortably, some more demanding games you'll have to turn settings down a bit to get anywhere near 144FPS.

Pro's - 4k, IPS, Freesync
Con's - 60Hz

You'll be able to play 4k fairly comfortably, with settings turned down a bit on more demanding games.

Pro's - Ultrawide, IPS, Freesync, not as expensive as 4k or 1440p 144Hz
Con's - 60Hz

RX 480 will have no trouble with maxing(or close to max settings) the majority of games out at this resolution.

Pro's - 144Hz, Freesync
Con's - 1080p, not IPS

Again, RX 480 will have no problem with running 1080p 144Hz. You'll have to turn some settings down slightly on AAA titles if you want to be hitting 144+ FPS.

Thank you once again 13.

Will it not look odd with a 27" monitor and a 24" next to it?

It would.

I'd say get 1 4k one and ditch the other monitor. You don't need 2 if you know how to use 4k properly...

Not necessarily. Depends on the monitors, and your own opinion really. I'd personally be fine with two slightly mismatched monitors, especially if they were both on a monitor arm.

I've decided to go with the most expensive one which you suggested for me, thank you.
