Should I run my wires through the wall for my setup. Main reason at the moment have a glass desk and later in the coming months I am building a custom desk but like to see no wires.

Things I would run
- Ethernet Cords (7 of them)
- Power cords (3 of them)
- HDMI cords and other things (3 of them)

Something kind of Funny

Oh and just something funny was running an Ethernet cord today from fifth floor to basement because my old one went out and found a glass vase in the wall blocking the cord.

Got the perfect thing for you if you decide to run cables behind your wall. Always use velcro straps to keep cables neat as possible so if you ever need to change something its quick and easy.

Yeah I was thinking these my Uncle Michael ran his living room setup cables through the wall and used something like this if not exact and I have plenty of velcro straps close to around 1000 of them. (accidentally ordered 11 of these [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )

I would recommend that you get a switch and get some rj45 wall plates instead of just wiring the cables through the wall. It's quite expensive but it leaves your setup nice and clean and are able to do it throughout your house if you want. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is something similar that I run from my basement into all the rooms of my house so I can just plug in an ethernet to my pc from the wall.

i already have that exact ethernet switch and for the wall plug thingy I have tried but i dont get my full speeds. It wouldn't be a big deal if I went from like my original 500 down and 100 up to like 50/20 because that is really all I need but it went to like 5/2 maybe the Rj45 is something different. This is what I had [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

For the wall jack you need to put each cable in the correct color section. If you only use 2 pairs (4 cables) you'll only get upto 100 mbps.

The powerline adapters don't work at all, from my testing. I went from 250 down to around 20. They are a piece of shit and a waste of money. The switch doesn't affect your speed, it just takes your current connection and spreads it throughout the ports without any major speed reduction.

This is what I'm talking about. Took me 5 hours to run the line and put them into the wall, it was difficult but works wonders now.
