Hi, so I built the below computer: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I'm sure most items are working. The power light turns on. The CPU, GPU, and case fans all spin fine. I checked the checklist that all of my connections look secure, and whatever clicks in is clicked in. My monitor works for my other PC just fine, but with this new PC, it stays dark and after a minute or two says there's no connection. There aren't any lights or speakers on the motherboard to help either My DVI is plugged into my GPU, and I tried using just the motherboard and tried reseating the CPU and RAM and clearing the cmos with no effect.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Have you tried resetting your motherboard after you reseated your CPU?

mITX is a bitch to troubleshoot due to limitations.

Let's take this the easy way. Try a different GPU connection.

Take the GPU out and try onboard.

Reseat RAM in a different slot.

Disconnect all drives.

I can't remember if that board has a BIOS speaker or not.

Disconnect CPU power turn on, it won't power up just let it run for about ten seconds.

Power cycle it a few times. If you still have the MB box, take it out of the case and set it on the box for a bench test. You should always do this prior to building your system. If the board is faulty you can RMA it.

Well I tried putting the RAM in the other slot and resetting the CMOS and booted it and it worked! Unfortunately now I'm having the problem that my keyboard and mouse work in BIOS but not on the Windows CD or USB installers I tried (though it does work in the UBCD I tried...

If you can get a copy of linux, and try that. In most cases it will allow your keyboard to be used. Or try a different keyboard ETC.

Make sure Legacy USB support is enabled in BIOS. Also make sure you're plugging kb/mouse in to USB 2.0 ports, not USB 3.0.

Thanks for the advice. I had tried "disabling" legacy support which made it even worse lol. It's been enabled by default. And yeah tried other ports too, including 2.0s. This is a very strange problem. Will try a different keyboard once I can borrow one and will try Linux yeah. Thank you!
