What's up guys been a while since I've posted due to being busy..

Anyways in a few months, may 8th to be exact I will be going to work in Ibiza (Spain) as a boat party rep.. basically just going around the beach selling tickets for a boat party that happens 3 times a week.. I have the opportunity to wom out there for 6 full months..

Anyways I'm just writing this topic to see if anyone else has every worker as a rep abroad and what's it like to be one? How hard is it? Is it with it? Will I last the full 6 months and so on? What should I expect?

Thanks in advance guys & girls

I've never worked abroad, however I have lived abroad and had to get used to American life in school, so I guess that can be used as basis.

I too thought I would fail as the American education system is completely different from the Russian education system. Simple things like even speaking were too different off of language and the fact that slang is used a lot more in American English. School work was just as bad as I couldn't grasp how the hell things were supposed to be done at first. Within the first few months of moving to America, I thought I was screwed, that I was going to fail. I started pushing myself harder and harder, I would say at unhealthy stress levels in order to get ahead and in doing so, I graduated from high school at 16. Now back to you, of course starting in a new country for work is going to be different. How the culture is, how people engage in dialog, ect. I may be wrong here, but I believe Spanish taught in the states, is a little different from Spanish taught in Spain.

As for will you last the 6 months, that's up to you. If you want to push past the 6 months, you'll do it, if not, you won't.

I can't help you at all in the boat party rep job as I have never held a job in that area, so I can't touch that for any help.

He'll be surrounded by people speaking his language probably though, so it won't be as difficult as it would be for you Tagia. Interesting story though, good to see you do well in a different country.

I'm just assuming that the OP is just working the temporary event promoter role in Ibiza in the party areas and stuff so yeah, should be easy enough and will be a good experience. I have heard bad things about those jobs though.

Well I hope you have fun there mate there's nothing else I can say haha

Just be careful around the pills that you are offered. They can be either placebos or seriously dangerous shizzle

I worked in Maga for 6 months and it was amazing! I was a Hotel rep at the BCM. Great fun, meet loads of people and get drunk everyday!
