Hey guys, I'm in that pitiful state where I should be sleeping but I can't sleep so I'm thinking about anything and everything. Here's a little math question for you, how can you take a 2 number equation (like 4+8 or 16-2 or something), and divide one of the numbers to double the answer?
For example, 16-4=12. If I divide 16 by 2, that won't make the answer 24, and if I divide 4 by two that also won't make the answer 24. How can I divide a number in an equation by 2 to end up doubling the answer? There is a way to do it, who can figure it out? P.S. 16 and 4 is just an example that I showed doesn't work (or does it?).
I'm going to try to go to bed now so I'll look in the morning lol.

Divide it by .25 (1/4)
ex. 4 + 8 = 12
here is how it goes:
(4/ .25) = 16
16 + 8 = 24
24 is two times the original answer.
ex. 4 + 8 = 12
here is how it goes:
(4/ .25) = 16
16 + 8 = 24
24 is two times the original answer.

That's the way! With division you can also divide the bigger number by two. For example 1/32=0.03125, divide 32 by 2 to get 1/16=0.0625.
