Hey Guys

I was just in the middle of playing Quadrilateral Cowboy and got a CTD, at this point Steam initiated an update to the game and when I tried to reload it, guess what.... GUI had gone up the wall, resolution was at a minimum and no GUI icons were displaying.

The issue is related to an problem with the configuration file so if this happens to you, you can hack your hacking game to resolve the issue....

From your Steam library menu....

  • Right click on Quadrilateral Cowboy.
  • Select Properties.
  • Local Files (Tab).
  • Browse Local Files...

Now in Windows Explorer that just showed up....

  • Open the Base folder.
  • Right Click DoomConfig.cfg.
  • Select Rename.
  • Rename DoomConfig.cfg to DoomConfig.cfg.backup

Start Quadrilateral Cowboy back up and when the default game starts....

  • Press Esc.
  • Exit the game.
  • Start Quadrilateral Cowboy again.
  • Select your perfected Options (i.e screen resolution).
  • Select Continue Career.

You will now be able to continue the game where you left off

Notes:

  • If you have not got file extensions configured to show up then you may see "DoomConfig" not DoomConfig.cfg. In this case, rename DoomConfig to DoomConfig.backup
  • Alough this fix is for Windows, I would imagine the fix for the current beta Mac/Linux versions would be the same.

Hope this helps someone
