Only play GTA 5 and Cod WAW on PC but they both crash saying "ran out of memory". Is this the GPU memory or system memory?

Radeon Software Version - 16.8.2
Radeon Software Edition - Crimson
Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon R9 280X
Memory Size - 3072 MB
Memory Type - GDDR5
Core Clock - 1100 MHz
Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
System Memory - 12 GB
CPU Type - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E31245 @ 3.30GHz

Just tried editing something in Premiere Pro, popped up saying "running low on memory" and then my computer shut off...

Go to system on your PC, then under the RAM spec does it say a certain amount usable?

What resolution are you playing at? 3gigs is fine for 1080 but will be stressed at 1440 and above.

That's his GPU memory not his system memory. OP has 12GB of ram. Check your task manager and see how much RAM it says you have total and how much is being used. You can check the processes and applications running to see if something is running badly and using a disgusting amount of RAM. Could also be a memory leak.
