So i have comcast and I know I can change it by returning my modem and getting a new one but I was looking into spoofing my mac address to change it. I have a linksys smart wifi router but cant seem to find a mac address on any of the settings. Please help if you know any thing about this. Please don't link me videos to youtube about it, believe me I have looked and there is nothing relating to my situation.

Changing your mac address doesn't change your IP. The main way that you can change ip's, that is if you have a dynamic one from your provider is to unplug your modem for a few minutes and plug it back in. It should change, if it doesn't you're stuck with that ip.

I was referring when you look up how to change your IP on youtube theres dozens of videos changing their mac address and then they have a different IP number. And I don't think unpluging works because I have tried that in the past. Thanks for the help tho +REP

Your external ip won't change, but your computer/device ip will change.

Yes thats what Im looking to do. I know I can return the modem and they will give me a new modem that has a new ip but I'm just looking to do that. But when I go into my router settings on the web their is nothing that says mac address that I can change. Well there is one thing its a empty box and it says copy my PCs mac address I have tried doing that and editing it and still nothing.

For your ISP to reset your IP and give you a new one, you usually have to leave your router off for quite a few hours. Mine took over 5 to be changed once.
