Keep looking.
Be smart with how you do things as well.
You can't expect businesses to pursue you, you have to pursue them.
Patience and hardwork always pays off.

Having been through this at your age; you will find a job no matter what.

Apply for everything and anything. Alot of companies wont even respond to you but once you are short listed for an interview then you are more than likely in the last 5 or 10 people (unless large company like Valve, Google etc.)

If you really do want to find and employment and dont have many if any qualifications then go for an apprenticeship; earn while you learn.

If you are from the UK I recommend sites such as: Indeed, Reed, The gov website, Monster.

Best of luck

I don't know where you are but the job market is screwed right now. They can hire you, or the college grad who also can't get a job. Put an ad out on Craigslist offering to mow lawns. Just from doing that I've gained tons of skills and when I turned 18 I had 4 career opportunities and a lot of money in the bank.

-Zed wrote I'm about to be 21 and I've never had an on-the-books job still because of the same reason.

I apply, attach my resume, answer all the questions that my resume already covers but they ask me again anyway. I call two days after, and every 3 days after that, if I get told to go in, I go, do the interview, and never hear from them again. That's the barrier for me, it's stupid. Can't really get experience if no one will hire me and allow me to get experience, I was even denied by McDonalds...

The part when you said you were denied at McDonald's killed me

At 16 you have no qualifications and any eighteen year old is going to get the job over you.

If you're from the UK, you wont even have your GCSE results yet. You shouldn't be surprised that you're finding it hard to get a job.

Either wait until you're older and more qualified or do some volunteer work to get experience or even as 002 said, put an advertisement on craigslist saying you'll cut grass and stuff.

There's nothing wrong with not having a job at sixteen, I'm eighteen and I've never had a proper job where you get paid. Study instead of working and get a really good job with a high salary when you're older.

Honestly, don't waste your money gifting gold or buying a JTAG. Save up for a car or something that's actually useful and will get you somewhere in life. I'm sure your parents will buy you a next-gen console at your birthday or christmas.
