I don't really plan on doing this but if they were able to work together should I try it? I currently have [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] in my computer. I wanted to upgrade to 16gb so I bought [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

It might work but RAM can be weird, especially when the timings are different. If you've already got the 16GB kit to replace it, you can just try the 8GB kit in with it to see if it works. If not, it just won't be displayed or recognised in your BIOS/OS, you won't do any damage trying it.
