I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right section or not, but feel free to move me to the relevant place.

I've got [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] which I purchased from Ikea not too long ago. I was thinking about getting a triple monitor mount for my 3 [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] monitors. I was thinking about getting this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] to add to my desk but I'm not sure that the cheap Ikea desk would hold it firmly in place.

Does anyone have an Ikea desk with monitor mounts that can reassure me that it would work fine? Or does anyone have any reason to why/why not it'd work?

Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

As long as the thickness of the desk is less than the max thickness for the mount it will work.

Alright, I'll give it a measure when I get back.

Thanks!

Are you worried about the thickness of the desk or if it can take the strain of the weight being focused all on one point of the desk?. If its the later you should be fine, Believe it or not Ikea product are made of sturdy stuff. If its the thickness yes give it a measure and hope ;).

Hey,

Yeah to be fair, I've measured the thickness of the desk and the monitor mount that I mentioned above will fit it very nice. Like you said the only thing I'm worried about is the strain of the 3 monitors being held by this Ikea desk. I guess there is nothing to lose and I could even send the mount back if it doesn't hold.

I have a beefy af VESA mount holding two monitors on my desk where my PC is also located and there are no problems whatsoever, IKEA make very good quality stuff.

In all honesty, your desk looks a lot more sturdier and stronger than mine. I'm probably completely wrong but mine looks pretty weak for a VESA mount.

Here is my desk and what I'll be doing. Either way I'm going to go ahead with it and then hopefully it will be alright. I've always got the option to send it back.

All you can do is try it, you have to remember that quite a bit of the weight of the monitor will be from the stock stand which you won't use.
