After almost having a truck slam into me going 40 MPH today, I think it's time to invest in a dash cam. Wanted to know if any other users have dash cams installed in their cars, and if so what model. Looking to pick one up within the next few weeks.

It's always worth having a dash cam. I got mine for free via Amazon as I do reviews for companies and it's a handy thing to have.

After I rear-ended a car (luckily I was recording on my cell phone), I bought one, the same one as Mew recommended in the second link. Works alright but it sucks having the lighter port plugged up with that, so I cut that connection off the wire that came with the cam and spliced it into the wiring for the lighter. I mounted it under my mirror, and you can barely tell it's there. I did have to "extend" the wire because I didn't want to see it so I ran it under the dash, up the pillar, threw the head liner and to the camera.
