could anyone tell me what cars are cheap on insurance in the uk, i know its based on your area but my area is safe and sound please tell me because im getting quotes about 2,4 grand a year which is stupid for the price of the cars wanting a car with less then 80k miles, at least 1.2l, years below 2005

Like you said, it is all relative to your location, vehicle, age, and driving experience.

Call or go online to your insurance company and request a quote for a vehicle that you might buy. They will give you the full rundown.

In my situation, (in California) driving a 2006 Infiniti FX35 at age 18 with no past pullovers/accidents and average high school grades being B and above, cost $800 USD every 6 months.

Well, I bought a 1.2, 2003 Corsa as my first car, and putting my parents on as named drivers helps, the overall cost of the insurance per year is 1200GBP. I know, still a hefty amount for a 17 year old, but what can you do eh?
