I am thinking about selling my iphone 4 and moving onto android, i have previously been on android as i have had a HTC and a Nexus 7 tablet. If anyone has the NEXUS 5, would you recommend the phone to people wanting a powerful smartphone?

Thanks guys.

I've got one and I absolutely recommend it. I have the 32GB black model running SlimKat. I also plan on moving to Franco Kernel once everything gets to be more stable.
I love the phone itself, the display is gorgeous although colors could be a bit more vibrant, but the phone is very fast, very light, and overall feels really good in the hands with its soft touch finish. I'd definitely recommend it.

If you have any question at all please let me know. I'd be happy to answer them.

I had one for around a week and although i did like the phone overall, i chose to change to the LG G2 purely that the phone performs better and I'm a freak for performance.

But OT the nexus 5 is a great phone and well worth the money.

It'll be a big step up from the iPhone 4, I'd go for it, the only negative criticism I've seen about the phone is the camera, which isn't even a bad thing.

Thats funny, the N5 and Lg G2 both have the same chipset. If anything the nexus 5 is faster since its running stock android.

I totally agree with you that the nexus 5 on stock android is most probably better but the LG has a better camera and i never run stock android as it is, custom roms are pretty much the norm anyway.

Nexus 5 has HDR+, better low-light performance than the G2, also it doesn't have the stupid buttons on the back. Still like the G2 though.

Awesome, I promise, you'll love it. This thing shreds through everything I put it up against. Only two complaints, and they could both be fixed with an updated api.
1) The camera, shutter speed is slow, I was at a concert last night and trying to take multiple pictures in rapid succession is a pain. Then again SlimKat doesn't support HDR+ at the moment.
2)Battery could be better. The automatic brightness is too aggressive, so I just take it off and it easily gets me through the day with several hours of screen on time and music playing almost constantly.

Performance wise, the Nexus and the G2 should be the same. The only main difference is the camera - but that's understandable as it is a lot cheaper.

Battery is poor, it's a 2300 mAh batter - which would normally be fine, but the Snapdragon 800 eats through batter really quickly (I've got an Xperia Z1 which has a 3000 mAh battery).
