Why aren't you partitioning in disk management?

well here's the question.... what commands are you using, what output are you getting, and are you using an administrative command prompt?

"list disk"

"list" is not recognized as an internal, external or batch command. I'm sure i'm using administrative command prompt.

Have you typed the command diskpart first.

After you type diskpart it will open the utility then you can use all the commands you are trying to access.
