Sorry for the late reply, but it is a six core CPU so the lower GHz is not a huge factor. It has a total of over 16GHz out of the box. I have over clocked mine to 3.5GHz per core which is 21GHz in total.

Quite clear that you're the one that needs advice, not the other way around.

Just because it's a 6 core CPU does not mean it's 6 x 'X' amount of core clock = final score. That's not how it works.

You don't need to pay someone to do a 5 second job. Take old CPU out, put new one in - it's a ZIF socket so all you do is drop it in and swing down the CPU socket arm and re-attach the heatsink with thermal compound if need be.

Core clock means almost nothing when you're comparing two different CPU's that are in completely different sockets. It's all about architecture.

Games will benefit from a higher end video card compared to a higher end CPU + lower end video card.

If you really want an upgrade, an i3-2100 + 7950 would be a fantastic combo.

And how exactly do you plan on fitting an LGA1155 into an AM3 socket?

You don't, you buy a new board that does not have an outdated socket. A real upgrade. Emphasis on upgrade. If you can't afford the components for a drastic upgrade, you're throwing your money away since it's going to be such little price to performance ratio.

200 budget you say? Grab an MSI Z77 G43/45 or ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and couple it with an I3 2100/2120/3320/3340
