Hello, my current processor is a: AMD Athlon II x2 245, and my motherboard is a ASRock N68-VS3 UCC (I believe, I'm using CPU-z, and I'm getting the mainboard information) I was wondering if I could upgrade to a AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz, without any issues, or having to change anything?

AMD FX CPU's require AM3+ sockets. It's not worth it either considering the entire AMD CPU line, especially their FX line is generally crap for what you're paying.

FX processors require an AM3+ socket. For around the same price range I would recommend a Phenom ii x4 965 or a Phenomm i x6 1055T if you can afford it. But I would not recommend replacing your CPU unless you are very comfortable with computers, because if you mess up your whole system is a giant paper weight basically.

I was intending for a local computer store to install the cpu, not myself, becuase I'm only comfortable as far as graphics cards, and such.

That makes things much easier. What is your price range for a CPU and would you consider overclocking?

I would consider overclocking it, my price range is up to 200, or around.

Then I would recommended a phenom ii x6 1055T, but make sure it is 95w because that is the max your motherboard supports. If you were to overclock it be carfully you don't overvolt it too much or at all.

Okay, if i purchase that, how would i refrain from overvolting it? and would that be an easy install as in no other items required for purchase?
