he's BS'ing you man you can definitly make GFX and run programs i have a gaming PC & im a decently known youtube editor. trust me man. PC all the way.

i have both-
MAC they are great for editing and not always checking to see if there is a virus in a download. If you are a persons who downloads random things mac are good.
PC- alot cheaper and you could upgrade your computer to make it faster and better

It honestly matter what your focus is on editing or gaming
