1-Look on the front of the controller. Above Select and Start should be the name Sony. The PS button should be exactly the same.
Now flip to the back. The serial label should have Sony and other warning labels on the back. Near the LED's, should be in *Blue* SIXAXIS and/or DUALSHOCK3.

2-If you take the back off, it will have Toshiba Parts.Genuine controllers have 5 screws on the back, fake ones have a 6th screw hiding under the sticker on the back.

3-The controller will also feel much lighter than a real one.

4-If it comes from Hong Kong or China most likely its fake.
