Can be obtained in Private Matches (versus bots included)

Select the Overrun game type in Versus. You can play this in private matches if you'd like as well. The below list contains all the classes you must get a kill with. This is easiest done in a private match against bots. The farther you go in rounds the more likely you will have enough points to buy the last few characters in Tier 2. If you want to make sure you get this and are in a private match, turn off Mercy Rule to ensure the game will last a long time.

Tier 1

Costs 0 points to play as these locusts.

Ticker - Press to melee, or to explode
Wretch - Press to melee
Grenadier - Use any weapons
Kantus - Use your pistol
Tier 2

You must earn points to be able to purchase these locusts. You get points automatically (slowly), as well as for damaging things and killing the enemy. Once you choose one of Tier 2 locusts, you will lose that amount of points and have to get them over again to use the same thing or something else.

Rager - 1500 Points - Normal, use gun. Press to rage and attack
Serapede 2400 Points - Press to melee. Rear up and spit also works
Mauler 3500 Points - Melee kill, and can also spin shield to rip apart enemies
Corpser 5000 Points - One hit kills with melee every time
Tracking: You can check the Achievements section in Stats & Awards from the main menu to see which ones you have done if you lose track.
