Parental controls are a big part of the Xbox One's dedication to preserving family integrity. After all, you don't want your child digging around into the great unknown of the Internet, so disallowing your kids from viewing certain content is a simple solution on Xbox One.

To start, make sure that your child already has a Microsoft account. You can create one from scratch or import one from the Xbox 360. This will work as their identity on the Xbox One. Go into the Settings of your profile on Xbox One, or whichever profile you dub to be the "main" profile in your household. From here, you can designate secondary accounts logged into the console as child accounts.

Go into the Add to Family section under Settings. Following these instructions, you will be able to restrict an account. Accept Microsoft's privacy statement. On the next screen, click Next to continue, or Privacy Statement if you want more information about Microsoft's privacy policies. This screen represents the meat and potatoes of the Xbox One's parental controls. There are three types of content restrictions: Access to content and apps, Web filtering and descriptions in OneGuide.
