People really like the PlayStation 4. How many, though? Over 20 million. As of March 1st, Sony says that it's sold through (not shipped, sold) 20.2 million of its latest console. It's going to be hard to judge just how far Sony's ahead of chief rival Microsoft and the Xbox One, however, until the latter releases numbers of it own. And, with a dearth of killer exclusive games, it's going to be interesting to see how long Sony can maintain this lead.

Valve continues to put console gaming in its crosshairs with news that a dozen new Steam Machines are hitting this November. Prices aren't concrete, but the company promises higher performance than game consoles starting at "the same price point." What's more, new units from Alienware and Falcon Northwest are on display at this year's Game Developers Conference, with the latter showing off Unreal Tournament running on a 4K monitor.

Sledgehammer Games announced 15 additional prestiges and new ways to get Elite weapon loot. When you enter Master Prestige your player XP is reset, challenge status remains the same, and challenges are not reset. Each new rank of Master Prestige unlocks a specific Elite Loot Weapon for use in multiplayer matches. Once you hit the highest level, which is Grand Master Prestige, you will get the Grand Master Prestige purple character gear.

Halo: Combat Evolved is now the latest game to join the ranks of the Twitch Plays phenomenon, and it's absolutely painful to watch. Previous Twitch Plays entries, including Pokemon and Legend of Zelda, featured gameplay where actions are triggered by commands written in the Twitch chat stream. In Halo, however, users in the chat are required to not only manipulate the playable character through 3D space but also a reticule, making it comparatively more difficult for the collective of players. Canadian gamers are in for an unpleasant price hike. As spotted by HardcoreGamer, the local Canadian branches of Amazon and EB Games have raised the prices of upcoming games to CAD$75.
