Activision - Infinite Warfare Preorder Figures Are “Highly Inaccurate”

Activision has come on record to state that early preorder figures for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare were “highly inaccurate and…not at all representative.”

Early preorder data for Call of Duty Infinite Wafare appeared to a show surprisingly low number of preorders, quite a ways down from the figures for earlier titles like Advanced Warfare and Black Ops III. As of May 14th, Infinite Warfare had hit around 60,000 preorders on console, a fraction of the over 700,000 console preorders for Black Ops III on the same day last year.

This figure did seem suspect at the time: Despite the amount of bad press Infinite Warfare received (it’s launch trailer is one of the most disliked videos in the history of YouTube), it seemed unlikely that any game in the Call of Duty franchise would have such poor preorder numbers, much lower than the likes of Doom, No Man’s Sky, and Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst.

I would think those are inaccurate. I mean, the reveal trailer may have the most dislikes, but it also has the most likes. I do think the preorder numbers are pretty low, but I don't think they are as low as first reported. I mean, the one edition even comes with CoD 4, so I expect the preorder numbers to be decent. Whatevs, I'm getting it. While I'm not as hyped about it as Watch Dogs 2, I am kind of hyped.

So if they were highly inaccurate, what are the real numbers then? Or is that some confidential hush hush stuff? Either way I'm not getting it. Don't necessarily want cod to go away, but I want them to burn down in the mean time until they understand what makes good games

Old CODS are the best though, no matter what game it is. We as a community don't want futuristic bull crap jumping around with jet suits and running on walls. We want on the ground like MW2.
