Star Wars: Battlefront does not support in-game voice chat on PC

4.5
Star Wars: Battlefront will not contain voice chat on PC, according to DICE.

This will either upset you or won’t. Either way, it’s not supported on the PC version. For console users, Battlefront will utilize the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One built-in party system for in-game chat.

The reason behind the lack of party-chat on PC wasn’t made clear, but according to the official SWB Twitter account, players will instead have to use a third-party software to communicate vocally.

So Skype, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, or whatever you and your buddies prefer.

The Star Wars: Battlefront beta ended today, October 13 at 11am ET and launches on November 17 in North America and November 19 in Europe.

Axer i mean skype solves that

Skype is too laggy when you get 4+ people on it IMO. TeamSpeak is a much better program if you just want to talk. Skype is good for Cams and Screen sharing though.

I never use my microphone anyway on my computer.

2277 Their response was so dumb. Im not a fan of this, how do they expect people to use teamwork? Maybe they will add it in the future. Until then skype it is.

Teamwork?? lol, this is a shooter. Everyone solos. Since when have ungrouped people ever used teamwork in battlefield/call of duty/crysis etc? Honestly no in game chat isn't that bad. There isn't in game chat in most pc games and it lowers the level of annoyance in random games.

I find this kind of stupid :/

Tik
fknvlink Why make a multiplayer game where team cooperation is key to winning but not allow the team to communicate via voice. Such a stupid decision. Like it shouldn't even be something they have to ask them selves in development. When is voice chat in a game ever a bad idea?

yes, i dont get why they would do this, but its their game, if they dont want in game chat, they dont need it. it is never a bad idea for in game chat.

yea its their game and their decision, but it was a bad one. One of the core aspects of multiplayer games is to be able to talk to people and make friends. You probably wouldn't have half of your online friends if games didn't have voice chat, at least I know I wouldn't.
