Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Shows They “Listen” Says Microsoft

4.6
While the Xbox One may not have had the best start to this generation, Microsoft has certainly learned from its less wise decisions and made the necessary changes. Currently, the Xbox One is a console that has received some of the most consistent, quality exclusive content between it and the PS4, and that has helped the console gain a major step up on the latter.

At E3 2015, Microsoft revealed the Xbox One would be backwards compatible for Xbox 360 games and it will finally go into full effect this coming November. The firm has said there will be over 100 backwards compatible Xbox 360 games from the start, with hundreds more being added in the months to follow.

Backwards compatibility has made the Xbox One a console to be reckoned with, as the PS4 frankly cannot match up to it when it comes to this feature. Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda talked about the Xbox One's upcoming backwards compatibility as evidence of how Microsoft is listening to what gamers want most.

"I think you can see that we listen, and that it has a huge influence on the big features that we deliver. for example, our announcement at E3 that Xbox One would support backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games. I mean, that was the most highly requested fan feature and something that people were asking us about at the launch of Xbox One. I didn’t even think it would be possible that we could enable that technically, and yet it was such a fan-requested feature among our community that we went and dedicated a big part of the super-talented people we have working on the tech on just going and figuring that problem out," Tsunoda told OXM.

Ever since the rumor of next-generation consoles began surfacing a year or two prior to their eventual releases, backwards compatibility was something gamers expressed interest in all along. This isn't a new thing and certainly hits a major cord with gamers, given the fact that Microsoft has decided to embrace it on Xbox One.

The Xbox One seems to be a console that is making moves for the benefit of gamers, and Microsoft doesn't seem to be changing that anytime soon. Tsunoda furthered this point by talking about how they'd like to get gamers more involved with the development of titles in a meaningful way.

"I think that’s what you see in our platform – that’s what you see in the types of games that we build and, like I said, I think you’re going to see it in us integrating fans’ voices into our products at a much earlier stage, because I think it really does help make the experience better for gamers. It makes the games more fun, and a main driving force in deciding what we’re doing is just trying to provide that highest value possible for our fans," Tsunoda said.

Xbox One will finally receive its highly anticipate backwards compatibility update this coming November, and a slew of other features will also come to the system at the same time. Microsoft will be launching Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5: Guardians on Nov. 13 and Oct. 27, respectively, for the Xbox One.

GearzyTV yeah... they are kidding themselves if they think they are listening to us. They are listening to the change in our pockets that isn't going into their pockets because we don't wanna buy shit.

I may need to get some clear up from the ps fanboys comment, backwards compatibility is coming free to everyone in Xbox one so how is that listening to money in our pockets? And they are listening to us, Xbox gets updates constantly trying to make the console more and more perfect for the community if they weren't listening they wouldn't care, And I don't know why everyone bags on Microsoft and Xbox and says ps4 is a superior console, I don't know the specs of the ps4 but it's not just the specs that makes a console it's the experience and support, I had the blue checkerboard screen 2 weeks after I got ps4 they told me it was water damage and said they couldn't do anything about it, when I tried to tell the guy on the phone that I don't have anything like that in my room not alone next to a brand new console to spill he hung up on me because I was because "rude" great service, all in all bc is free, fan on the Sony forms instead of shit talking on the Xbox forums :*

When you grow up you'll realise that everything has a price, and that's how the world works. Nothing is free.

I've always loved Microsoft for this. They always add new features and doing things because the community wants them to. If the community has a negative feeling about something they get rid of it or change it to be better.
