'Fallout 4' won't support user mods this fall

4.6
One of the biggest surprises from E3 this year was that Fallout 4 would support user mods across PC and Xbox One. That's still in the cards, but it definitely won't happen at launch. Of course, that's because the tools that'd allow you to, say, replace the game's fearsome bear-like enemies the Yao Guai with 3D models of Yogi the Bear don't exist yet according to IGN. Publisher Bethesda Softworks' vice president of marketing Pete Hines says that the team's focus is on making sure the game ships on time. "Our entire focus is on finishing the game," he said. "Nobody cares about mods if the game sucks." Concise! Once Fallout 4 proper is done (and the team likely takes a bit of a break), work on The Creation Kit will begin; it'll take "clearly into next year," according to Hines.

Not sure why people want mods in the first place. As one of the devs said, you can play 400 hours and still find new things.

I don't see a need for mods.

you don't need mods to have fun

I find this to be good because the main quality of the game is important. The other non essential features may come later. ;)

-it- Fallout is a beast game, I have seen tons of trailers of it and I personally think this is going to be a sick game, I Just really hope this game is the way they say it is.

Never really played the other fallouts before this one but im defiantly going to give this ago because from what ive seen so far it looks sick, I just hope it isn't a let down like most games

UZl I have a feeling this is going end up like what Rockstar did with GTA v, where they took a year to give us heists. Hopefully we have the mods by christmas

God i hope youre right about the christmas thing... dont want to wait to long for the mods

Tell me about it. Looks like more gaming companies will tend to do the same where they will sell us an unfinished product.

There is easily a years worth of content in any fallout so it wouldn't be that bad.

JRMH See, it works out for them, because people will play through the game first, and Fallout 4 will get essentially a whole new grand release with the mod tools being released.

Smart of them. I haven't played previous Fallouts, but I might try out FO3.

Yeah it would be a waste to release the mods at first.

I'm happy with this, Fallout 4 looks like an amazing game and at-least there will be mod support in the future. most games don't have it at all
