Black Ops 3 will not support cross-platform play between PC Windows 10

4.6
PCDev has confirmed on Twitter that they do not have plans to support cross-platform play between Windows 10 on PC and the Xbox One platform for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Windows 10 is set to launch on July 29th and one of the features it includes is the ability to have cross platform play with Xbox One if developers support; one of the first titles to announce support is Fable Legends, but it seems that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not be supporting this new feature.

Treyarch has already confirmed beforehand that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be compatible with Windows 10 OS, but it seems all of it’s functionality will be limited to Steam, rather than the Xbox app on Windows 10. Another big feature of Windows 10 is cross buy between PC and Xbox One titles, but as of now, there’s no indication from Activision or Treyarch if that will be supported for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

This is because they couldn't cope with all the console plebs complaining that they're getting rekt by the PC players using their far-superior mouse & keyboard. Nothing to do with "servers" people - the fact of the matter is PC players would have a far better time than the console players.

I don't think cross platform would be such a great thing when combining a console and a PC..

I don't see this as that much of a problem. Cross-platform could lead to multiple issues with the servers.

Tricks I'm actually glad. I feel like people on console would have the advantage over PC when it comes to first shot, killing, etc. Plus, PC gets mods all the time, which I would hate to see on BO3.

I hope this is a joke. If anything the console is at a HUGE disadvantage, K&M outshines the controller in every way when it comes to first person shooters. Fighting and driving games on the other hand I would give the win to controllers. And the PC mod thing are custom servers. People host their own unofficial servers and allow fun ass mods to play the game with a twist. Official servers (which is where cross-platform play where would be hosted, I'd hope) wouldn't allow mods.

he is talking about the servers. consoles have way more servers than the PC, so over cross-platform console players would have an advantage over connection.

Well if it was cross platform they would have a certain amount of servers dedicated to cross platform play. So both systems would have the same amount of servers. No system would have aa connectionadvantage.

he said at this time witch means it is still a possibility that it might be done.

Bio very surprised to see this I wonder just how many fans will be angry from the decision.

No one should be angry by this decision. cross-platform play should not take place between consoles in my opinion since it would create controversy about lag, mods and system tempering. I hope no first person shooters become cross-platform in the future, it just won't work. It'll be impossible.

Whoa. Their is so much wrong in this statement. PC doesn't get mods ALL THE TIME. Mods in online games are only allowed in servers that allow them. Many competitive games don't even allow mods. Mods have not been allowed in Call of Duty since Black Ops 1. It has been just like console ever since then. Sure aiming would be a advantage that PC gets, however, consoles get aim assist which covers a good part of the skill gap. I have played CoD many times on PC and do just as good with the controller as I do mouse and keyboard, using a controller gets you aim assist.

Cross platform gaming is something that needs to happen soon. Everyone is being held back from the fences that each console puts up.

The only advantage that PC has over console is better settings. Console would get most of these settings. They would make it a fair playing field.

Point taken, but not until at least another 5 years.

Yeah I was just about to post that. KB+M is much more accurate and responsive. I switched to pc after 360 died. Ive actually improved my gameplay so much. I am now globally ranked in BF4, which is something I never would have gotten on console.
