Phil Spencer says not to Define Games by Resolution and Framerate

4.5
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has once again taken to Twitter to hint new information about his next set of plans and announcements. First of all, he believes that having 60 frames per second in the game does not make a better game. When bugged by fans about the lack of Xbox One games that support 60 frames per second on the console, he stated that there are a lot of games on the console that support that standard but one should not define a game’s quality by resolution or frame rate.

Moving ahead, he also commented on the recent announcement that Sony won’t be attending Gamescom. He stated. “I saw that news. Makes sense, E3 and GC are very close this year, more challenging on news. Paris show is a good show.” Spencer’s comment here makes a ton of sense since E3 is taking place later and Gamescom is happening a bit earlier than their usual dates.

He also revealed that he will be at Gamescom this year, indicating that Microsoft itself will be attending the show in Cologne. Furthermore, it seems that Microsoft have relaxed their ID@Xbox Policy for Lab Zero Games. The company tweeted to Spencer and asked him whether they can have a chat to end a certain policy. Spencer stated that: “I’m glad this worked out. Happy to get your input on how we run ID@Xbox. DM me.” We are not sure what that policy is but one can assume that it’s ID@Xbox controversial parity clause. We have followed up with Lab Zero Games to get more information on this.

Of course he said that, lol. Pretty pathetic that "current gen" consoles can't even play everything at 1080p 60FPS.

they getting confused on how to make a game hahaha

If they concentrated more on the storylines and the game itself instead of frame rate it would really not matter.

Although I do like good graphics I think the game itself should be judged. If that makes any sense.

I always like games with good graphics but ultimately the gameplay is what makes me enjoy it the most, the graphics on PES are shocking but I prefer it to FIFA.

I always like games that have good graphics. I probably couldnt even play a game if it had shitty graphics.

Good graphics are always nice but how good the gameplay is should be how games are defined.

Cyimking A good game is defined by resolution / framerate, gameplay, story line, and content. You think GTA V would had made it's sell with shitty graphics? No. So yes graphics matters. However, I believe that we was trying to say that the actually number doesn't matter which I agree. AW didn't run on 1080p on the xbox one but it did look pretty good. So yes, I agree with him. Xbox games will never be 1080 native but it will always look as good as the PS4. PS4 graphics will be better but not to the point where it looks 100x better.

Xbox One has a couple games on 1080 and more soon to be on 1080p aswell so how will XB1 never have 1080p games? Some things you say are soo stupid, your so bias towards PS4 you just sound stupid.

I have to agree with him on this as to me I think its not that important aswell.

Really graphics and fps are just a bonus in a game, the enjoyment you get is what matters the most imo.
