Faulty component blamed for slow shipment of Apple Watch

4.7
One of the companies manufacturing the touch feedback component of the Apple Watch has failed to deliver quality parts, resulting in the delay of the Apple Watch rollout.

It was reported earlier that the Apple Watch won't be available in stores until June and some pre-orders were pushed back as well due to insufficient stock. Now, we might finally have the reason for this delay other than the overwhelming number of pre-orders that the company received for the device.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, one of the manufacturers developing the "Taptic Engine" which provides feedback to the user's touch, delivered defective units which led Apple to switch suppliers and carry on with just one supplier for the initial batch. The shipments might take a month to get back on track as the mass production of the "Taptic Engine" will take some time.

TaigaAisaka Even though I own an iPhone right now, Apple Watch is just something I would never use, mainly the fact I don't like wearing watches, that and it's just easier for me to use my phone for what I need to use it for.

and its just really expensive !!

It's not so much as that being the issue, granted I wouldn't jump on the gold one for it's price, but I just legit don't like wearing watches, let alone buying something like that, when my phone can already do everything it does (that matters to me) and more, also at faster speeds.

Complete waste of money.
1. Requires an iPhone for the majority of it's features to work
2. Okay so you need an iPhone for it to basically be a smart watch and then you realise it does exactly what your iPhone already does and its slower

So yeah its basically for Fat ass people who can't be bothered to put their hand in their pocket and take out their phone.

Treyarched "FAULTY COMPONENT BLAMED".... Just admit it apple they bent didn't they?

I lost it omf.

On topic-Pretty much a huge waste of money IMO. No need for smart watches, seriously. I just don't see the point personally. I much prefer having a nice, silver, analog watch than a smart watch.
