Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will ship with bionic eyes and civil unrest and neural control and whistleblowers. That’s as standard. But on PC, it’ll also launch with dedicated servers for all ranked matches, and an adjustable FOV slider in its options menu.

“This is how we do it,” wrote Treyarch’s @pcdev.

Previous Black Ops games boasted “100% dedicated servers” for ranked matches, and Treyarch director of development Cesar ‘pcdev' Stastny yesterday confirmed the same for Black Ops 3.

Stastny also noted that Black Ops 3 will launch with an FOV slider comparable to those seen in Black Ops 1 and 2 - but said that framerate questions still remained.

“I don't like FPS caps on PC, unless necessary for balance or server performance in ranked matches,” he mused. “It’s too early to say what we can do in Black Ops 3, but that's my thinking on the topic.”

It’s worth noting that Black Ops 2 had an uncapped framerate in its single player campaign and cooperative Zombies mode - but limited players to a maximum of 200 FPS in competitive multiplayer.

Players who pre-purchase Treyarch’s latest on Steam will automatically get in on the beta when it goes live.
