Updating Mods For Minecraft 1.9 Should Be “Less Painful”

4.8
Michael Stoyke, one of Mojang’s PC programmers, has take to Twitter to reassure modders that updating their mods from Minecraft version 1.8 to the new 1.9 will be “less painful”. It means anyone optimising mods for the current 1.8 versions of Minecraft shouldn’t have to go through a terrible re-writing process when the next update is released.

So if you’re working on mod compatibility at the moment and were feeling exasperated at the idea of version 1.9, let out a sigh of relief now.

Good to see that mod compatibility is being noticed and that they're trying to make it easy for mods to be updated for new versions.

JRMH Minecraft has died in recent times. I understand it is still widely played, but it's a lot less popular than it once was. Take this, and take the percentage of Minecraft players that even KNOW code, and than take a fraction from that, people who are interested in creating mods, and this article is simply not relevant to 85%+ of ttg.

I think Minecraft died when Microsoft bought it tbh

Just because a company bought a game doesn't make the game dead. It went dead because the game itself got boring after a while.
You're retarded... Microsoft is ruining the game by putting so much effort into making profit of it, which is why it's dead...

lol

They don't even have to try. They just do. Besides, they still need to make the $$$ they bought it for before getting Profit. The game is basically already done in a sense of it's out for every device playable(Phones, Xbox, Playstation, Computer, Etc.) So they can force it out that way. The way they will get it is by raising prices which they have not done. And they don't massively market the game.

This game is not dead. Microsoft, since getting it, has done nothing with it except let the money roll in. If it's dead, it's because the game itself is dead. Not because of Microsoft.
