Xbox 360 now supporting 2TB hard drives

4.6
Microsoft announced that the next update for Xbox 360 Preview Program members will allow the use of 2TB hard drives. The update will later move to those not in the Preview Program later this year. Adding to this, they will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive.

Microsoft does note that some drives may be incompatible or have performance issues.

"The next update for Xbox 360 Preview Program members will allow the use of 2TB hard drives to store Xbox 360 data. If you are not part of the Preview program you will get this functionality later this year. In addition we will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive."

Note: Some drives may be incompatible or have performance issues. If you already have space reserved for storing Xbox 360 data, you will need to clear the Xbox 360 storage to gain full access to the drive. If you are in the Preview program, please review the list of known issues before formatting your drive.

I'd say this is a pretty good feature for those who still play X360. But this should of been added before the Xbox One came out. Maybe even before the One even got announced.

Cabaye You could buy a 2TB hard drive for your 360... Or you could keep the £80 you'd spend on it, sell your 360 & games and get yourself a current gen console.

360 is past gen now. Get with it people

Right lol these poor ass nigs xD I can't wait for them to pull the plug on last gen servers

Gama I think this isnt needed but why not lol!?!

When you own over 300 games and you have even more on the market.... it is very needed instead of 5 external drives.

I don't think i would ever use 2 TB on the 360. You don't have to download the game unless it is a 2 disk game or you got it on demand. I've only used about 150GB.

That would've been useful back when I was using mine I switched over to digitally purchasing and that's pretty nice compared to the 320 I remember having.

A lot of people with brains choose to install their games onto their hard drives because the games load faster.
