H1Z1 has sold over 1 million copies

4.7
H1Z1, Daybreak Games’ zombie survival game, has sold more than one million copies on Steam in just over three months. It looks like the 'mixed' reviews on the game's Steam page hasn't stopped people shuffling towards their monitors, arms extended, demanding more zombie survival experiences.

Daybreak’s president John Smedley announced the milestone on Twitter. The game, originally developed as part of Sony Online Entertainment, and now with Daybreak as the studio split from its Sony parent, has been available in early access on Steam since mid-January. The game has remained near the top of Steam’s best seller list, despite there being controversy over its microtransactions and general quality.

My friend preordered it and said it wasn't worth the money. If you have friends playing it, I guess it would be worth the money

TH9 This game is living a lifecycle like Minecraft imo. Not the same type of game but living the same way. It'll get more popular but die out in 1-1.5 years. The reason minecraft isn't entirely successful is the business model of it: no room for sequels / other ways to make money. I like the model but its not gonna bring in cash. Same with this game though

Except minecraft made notch a billionaire so your wrong in the aspect it isn't going to bring in any money.
I hate minecraft but I can't deny it is one of the most popular and successful games ever.
H1Z1 has in game purcashes so it has a way to bring in money across its entire lifespan how ever long that may be.

On average that's about $30 million (1 million copies at $19.99 / $39.99), I hope they still have incentive to finish the game.
