Modern Warfare 2 Remaster petition reaches 130,000 signatures

Revolution? Innovation? Ambient cubemaps? New, transformative kinds of games burned onto our retinas from our new-generation consoles? Not so much... It turns out that’s not what everyone wants, if over 130,000 people are to believed. A petition is currently live on change.org for a remastered version of 2009’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The petition states that Modern Warfare 2 on last-gen consoles has been overrun with hackers and deserves a remaster to fix the problems. It’s looking for 150,000 signatures before sending a letter on to Activision.

With over 15,000 signatures gained since last night, it might not be too long before the petition reaches its goal. With all the recent remasters on PS4 and Xbox One, is something like Modern Warfare 2 prime material for a lick of paint? Or is this a franchise that should be looking forward instead of back? And why the hell isn't there a proper petition for the original (and far superior) Modern Warfare instead?

Everything, good and bad, made MW2 what it is. You can complain about Grenade launchers and snipers all you want, but at some point everyone has used and taken advantage of both. You can't remake a game an take things out to make people happen. Straight across remake or none.


Agreed bro. It wouldn't be MW2 without the spawn tubers and the trick shotters. Its what made the game fun because there was so much you could use! I say all they should fix on it is the security system and thats it.

Well said you guys complain to much I would be happy with a remake just like it is im not gonna be picky about it

They could probably just completely remove one man army as it had limited uses anyway apart from noobtube camping lol
I'd probably buy an Xbone if MW2 was remastered

They just need to do a Remastered collection of the entire MW series 1-3 with a new revamped multiplayer with all the DLC maps from all the games included.

I hope they do remake it, of course still with trickshotting, but the maps like updated kind of, and with less grenade launching, as that got annoying fast, but it would be nice for it to have no hackers. Just keep the guns, and they will be fine, but add more DLCs, like at least 4 depending on how popular the game is...
